Taxonomy
Cryptophagus harenus was named by Lyubarsky and Perkovsky (2012). Its type specimen is SIZK K-8224, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Rovno Amber, Klesov locality (SIZK K collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Ukraine.
