Taxonomy
Synorthophlebia liadis was named by Handlirsch (1939). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Dobbertin, Mecklenburg (Greifswald collection), which is in a Toarcian offshore claystone in Germany.

It was recombined as Orthophlebia liadis by Martynova (1948), Willmann (1978), Willmann (1984).
