Taxonomy
Misthodotes stapfi was named by Kinzelbach and Lutz (1984). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Jeckenbach, which is in an Asselian terrestrial mudstone in the Jeckenbach Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Arnulfias.
It was recombined as Arnulfias stapfi by Willmann (2007).
