Trionyx beecheri

Taxonomy
Aspideretes beecheri was named by Hay (1904). Its type specimen is YPM VP 000295, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Converse County (?now Niobrara County), Eubaena cephalica holotype locality, which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial horizon in the Lance Formation of Wyoming.

It was recombined as Hummelichelys beecheri by Chkhikvadze (2000); it was recombined as Aspideretoides beecheri by Danilov and Vitek (2013) and Holroyd et al. (2014); it was recombined as Trionyx beecheri by Vitek and Joyce (2015).
