Ficus spericus

Angiospermae - Moraceae

Taxonomy
Ficus spericus was named by Berry (1929) [These fruits have been compared with a variety of things. They are superficially much like crustaceous galls such as are produced by certain insects of the genus Retinodiplosis, but the galls lack the peduncular scar and the longitudinal fibrous structure of the fossils. There is a resemblance, which is not especially close, to the seeds of various Nymphaeaceae.]. It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.
