Euplectitae was named by Streubel (1839). It is extant. Its type is Euplectus.

It was reranked as the subfamily Euplectinae by Newton and Chandler (1989).

It was assigned to Pselaphidae by Newton and Chandler (1989); and to Pselaphinae by Bouchard et al. (2011), Parker (2022).
