Taxonomy
Lithogomphus muenzenbergianus was named by Beier (1952). Its type specimen is NHMW 1889/no 98, a hindwing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Münzenberg near Leoben, which is in a Badenian mire/swamp lignite in Austria. It is the type species of Lithogomphus.
