Taxonomy
Agriotes succiniferus was named by Becker (1963). Its type specimen is UCMP 12972, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is UCMP B-7456, Simojovel area, which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in Mexico.
