Taxonomy
Mastotermes bournemouthensis was named by von Rosen (1913). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Bagshot Beds, Bournemouth (BMNH), which is in a Lutetian pond claystone in the Poole Formation of the United Kingdom.
