Taxonomy
Ledomyia was named by Kieffer (1894). It is extant. It is the type genus of Ledomyiini, Ledomyiina.

It was assigned to Ledomyiini by Fedotova and Perkovsky (2008), Fedotova and Perkovsky (2014), Gagné and Jaschhof (2014); and to Ledomyiina by Fedotova and Perkovsky (2015).
