Taxonomy
Corsomyza crassirostris was named by Meunier (1910). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Berendt collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.
It was considered a nomen nudum by Loew (1850); it was recombined as Paracorsomyza crassirostris by Hennig (1966) and Evenhuis and Greathead (1999).
