Hemipenthes provincialis
Taxonomy
Anthrax provincialis was named by Handlirsch (1907). Its type specimen is NHMW 1865/X/1124, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Aix-en-Provence (NHMW Coll), which is in a Chattian lacustrine - large limestone in the Niveau du gypse d'Aix Formation of France.
It was recombined as Hemipenthes provincialis by Evenhuis and Greathead (1999).
