Artematopodites shaanbeiensis was named by Hong (1995). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is WF08, Zaoshuwan, Wuqi County, which is in a Valanginian fluvial-lacustrine siltstone in the Huachi-Huanhe Formation of China.
