Taxonomy
Nasutitermes electrinus was named by Krishna (1996). Its type specimen is UCMP B-7047-29, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is UCMP B-7047, Simojovel, which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in the Mazantic Shale Formation of Mexico.
