Hadrobregmus was named by Thomson (1859). It is extant. It is the type genus of Hadrobregmini.

It was assigned to Anobiumedae by Lesne (1920); and to Hadrobregmini by Zahradník and Háva (2014) and Zahradník and Háva (2014).
