Taxonomy
Leguminocarpon was named by Göppert (1855). It is not extant. Its type is Leguminocarpon arachioides.

It was assigned to Leguminosae by Chandler (1961) and Andrews (1970); and to Fabaceae by Goeppert (1855) and Srivastava (1991).

Synonyms
  • Leguminocarpon eocenum was named by Yawale (1979). It is not extant. Its type locality is Mohgaon Kalan, which is in a Paleogene lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal horizon in the Deccan Intertrappean Formation of India.

    It was considered a nomen nudum by Srivastava (1991).
