Semihaswellia was named by Canu and Bassler (1917) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo-m-u R Sepkoski's reference number: 1260]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Gigantoporidae by Bassler (1953), Cheetham (1962); and to Cheilostomata by Sepkoski (2002).

Tremotoichos was named by Canu and Bassler (1917) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo-m-u T Eo-u Sepkoski's reference number: 633,1260]. It is not extant. Its type is Tremotoichos rectifurcatum.

It was synonymized subjectively with Semihaswellia by Cheetham (1962).

It was assigned to Gigantoporidae by Bassler (1953); to Cheilostomata by Sepkoski (2002); and to Porinidae by Guha and Gopikrishna (2007), Guha (2013).
