Taxonomy
Oligaeschna saurai was named by Peñalver et al. (1996). Its type specimen is MNCNI-22610, a hindwing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is La Rinconada, Ribesalbes (MNCNI collection), which is in a Miocene lacustrine - large shale in Spain.
