Taxonomy
Misthodotes dubius was named by Sinitshenkova (2013). Its type specimen is PIN 3840/1706, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Isady Locality (Mutovino, PIN collection 3840), which is in a Wuchiapingian lacustrine siltstone in the Poldarsa Formation of the Russian Federation.
