Taxonomy
Feronites velenovskyi was named by Frič (1884). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Lipna u Loun, which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial shale in the Peruc-Korycany Formation of Czechia. It is the type species of Feronites.
