Milfordia argentina was named by Barreda (1997). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is CIRGEO Palin 845, coordinates: 37/97.8, plate II, fig. 2, a seed repro (Monoporate pollen), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

| V. Barreda and S. Palamarczuk 2000 | Pollen grain free, anisopolar, monoporate, spherical to subspherical, outline circular to subcircular in equatorial and polar views. Pore circular to oval, variable in size, 3.5-10 µm in diameter, often with ragged margins, rarely with slightly thickened margins (1.3 µm thick). Exine stratification distinct, 1-1,5 µm. Sexine and nexine approximately equal in thickness. Exine sculpture densely rugulate, rugulae generally coalesce forming an irregularly perforate tectum. |
