Calva (Egelicalva) bowersiana

Taxonomy
Cucullaea bowersiana was named by Cooper (1894). Its type specimen is CAS 66028.01 (lectotype) and is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Calva (Egelicalva).

It was recombined as Calva bowersiana by Popenoe (1937), Schoellhamer et al. (1981); it was recombined as Trigonocallista bowersiana by Popenoe (1942), Anderson (1958); it was recombined as Calva (Egelicalva) bowersiana by Saul and Popenoe (1992), Elder and Saul (1993).

L. R. Saul and W. P. Popenoe 1992A large, ovately trigonal Egelicalva having smooth lateral teeth and the lunular margin concave. Cardinal tooth 1 barely extending to hinge plare edge, extending farther toward beak than 3a, 3a shorter rhan 1, hinge plare relatively narrow.
