Uruguaytherium beaulieui
Discussion
Holotype: no number. Left mandibular ramus with the roots of p4 and m1, and the last two molars very well-preserved.
Locality: The specimen was found in Uruguay, department of Rio Negro. No stratigraphic or geological information is known for the specimen.
Etymology: in honor to Sra. Beaulieu, who gave the fossil to L. Kraglievich.
Taxonomy
Uruguaytherium beaulieui was named by Kraglievich (1928). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Santa Lucía Basin, which is in a Deseadan fluvial sandstone in the Fray Bentos Formation of Uruguay. It is the type species of Uruguaytherium.
