Taxonomy
Blattinopsiella pygmea was named by Meunier (1907). It is an impression. Its type locality is Commentry (MNHN later coll), which is in a Gzhelian lacustrine deltaic shale in the Commentry Shales Formation of France.
It was corrected as Blattinopsiella pygmaea by Meunier (1909), Lameere (1917) and Meunier (1921); it was recombined as Oryctoblattina pygmea by Handlirsch (1919); it was recombined as Oryctoblattina pygmaea by Handlirsch (1922); it was recombined as Glaphyrophlebia pygmaea by Hörnschemeyer and Stapf (2001).
