Taxonomy
Aranea globosa was named by Presl (1822). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber (Prague Museum NMPC collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Theridion globosum by Marusik and Penney (2004); it was recombined as Theridion globosus by Dunlop et al. (2013).
