Taxonomy
Anthracosiro woodwardi was named by Pocock (1903). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Coseley, near Dudley (Johnson coll), which is in a Westphalian B interdistributary bay shale in the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Anthracosiro.
