Taxonomy
Cretohexura coylei was named by Eskov and Zonshtein (1990). Its type specimen is PIN 2385/418, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Pad Semen (PIN collection 2385), which is in an Aptian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Argun Formation of the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Cretohexura.
