Taxonomy
Orchestina albertensis was named by Penney (2006). Its type specimen is RTMP 96.9.627, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Grassy Lake, Medicine Hat (TMP 96.9 accession), which is in a Campanian terrestrial amber in the Foremost Formation of Canada.
It was recombined as Canadaorchestina albertensis by Wunderlich (2008), Dunlop et al. (2013).
