Taxonomy
Eocteniza silvicola was named by Pocock (1911). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Coseley, near Dudley (Egginton coll), which is in a Westphalian B interdistributary bay shale in the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Eocteniza.
