Taxonomy
Notoziphius bruneti was named by Buono and Cozzuol (2013). Its type specimen is MPEF-PV 3282, a partial skull (partial skull and fragments of left and right dentaries), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Playa El Doradillo, which is in a Tortonian marine sandstone in the Puerto Madryn Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Notoziphius.
