Lepthyphantes lamellatus was named by Wunderlich (1988). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, GPIH collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Custodela lamellata by Wunderlich (2004), Dunlop et al. (2013).
