Taxonomy
Lycosa miocaena was named by Schawaller and Ono (1979). Its type specimen is SMNS 24810 and is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Randeck Maar (SMNS coll), which is in a MN 5 crater lake lime mudstone in the Randeck Maar Formation of Germany.
