Taxonomy
Mistura perplexa was named by Petrunkevitch (1971). Its type specimen is UCMP 12815 and is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is UCMP B-5100, Las Cruces landslide, Simojovel region, which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in Mexico. It is the type species of Mistura.
