Argyrodes (Ariamnes) copalis was named by Wunderlich (2008). Its type specimen is F1691/CC/AR/CJW and is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Colombian copal (Wunderlich coll), which is in a Holocene terrestrial amber in Colombia.
