Taxonomy
Palaranea borassifoliae was named by Frič (1873). Its type specimen is CGH E3491, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Swinná near Radnitz, which is in a Westphalian C terrestrial shale/coal in the Kladno Formation of Czechia. It is the type species of Palaranea.
