Taxonomy
Nuurcala obesa was named by Wang and Ren (2013). Its type specimen is CNU-BLA-NN-2012055, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Huangbanjigou, Chaomidian Village, CNU 2012 collection, which is in a Barremian lacustrine - large mudstone in the Yixian Formation of China.
