Taxonomy
Avolatavis tenens was named by Ksepka and Clarke (2012). Its type specimen is UWGM 39876a and b, a partial skeleton (articulated pelvis, caudal ver- tebral series, and complete left hind limb), and it is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Avolatavis.
