Taxonomy
Caririgryllus mesai was named by Martins-Neto (1991). Its type specimen is CD-I-083, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Crato (MN-UFRJ collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil.
