Ectaetia capdoliensis was named by Fate et al. (2013). Its type specimen is IGR CDL-7, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Cadeuil amber, which is in an Albian/Cenomanian terrestrial amber in France.
