Taxonomy
Cretacochorista parva was named by Jell and Duncan (1986). Its type specimen is NMVP103248, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is NMVPL425, Koonwarra, which is in an Aptian pond claystone/siltstone in Australia.
