Reticulitermes hartungi
Taxonomy
Termes hartungi was named by Heer (1864). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Oeningen (Zurich collection), which is in a Sarmatian crater lake limestone in the Upper Freshwater-Molasse Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Heterotermes hartungi by Snyder (1949); it was considered a nomen nudum by Hagen (1858); it was recombined as Reticulitermes hartungi by Weidner and Riou (1986), Nel and Paicheler (1993) and Krishna et al. (2013).
