Metatermites statzi
Taxonomy
Metatermites statzi was named by Armbruster (1941). Its type specimen is SMNS 2034, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Randeck Maar (Armbruster collection), which is in a MN 5 crater lake lime mudstone in the Randeck Maar Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Metatermites.
