Taxonomy
Francotermes bauzilensis was named by Weidner and Riou (1986). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Montagne d'Andance, Saint-Bauzile, Privas (Riou collection), which is in a Turolian crater lake diatomite in France.
It was considered a nomen dubium by Nel and Paicheler (1993).
