Taxonomy
Ulmeriella strausi was named by Weidner (1971). Its type specimen is GZG 15062, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Willershausen clay pit (GZG collection), which is in a Piacenzian pond marl in Germany.
It was considered a nomen dubium by Nel and Paicheler (1993).
