Taxonomy
Corwenia ashwillensis was named by Nestell and Stevens (2013). Its type specimen is USNM 531334 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is SJS-1309h, Fort Rock, Big Flat, which is in a Visean/Moscovian carbonate limestone in Oregon.
