Taxonomy
Adiantopteris was named by Vassilevskaja (1963) [Vassilevskaja 1963 (in Tajtadzhan, Vajrameiev & Radchenko 1963)]. It is considered to be a form taxon.

It was assigned to Pteridophyta by Chandra and Tewari (1991); and to Pteridaceae by Cladera et al. (2007).
