Taxonomy
Metabuprestium ichbogdoense was named by Alexeev (2009). Its type specimen is PIN 4271/242, an elytra, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Shar-Tolgoy (PIN collection 4271), which is in an Aptian lacustrine marl in the Shar-Tolgoy Formation of Mongolia.
