Heterothemis brodiei

Taxonomy
Libellula brodiei was named by Brodie (1845). Its type specimen is BMNH I 3552, a hindwing (complete left hindwing), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Alderton Hill (Brodie collection), which is in a Falciferum marine limestone in the Whitby Mudstone Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Aeschna brodiei by Hagen (1848); it was recombined as Gomphoides brodiei by Selys-Longchamps (1850), Kirby (1890) and Handlirsch (1906); it was recombined as Gomphus brodiei by Hagen (1850); it was recombined as Aeschna (Gomphus) brodiei by Bode (1905); it was recombined as Gomphites brodiei by Handlirsch (1920), Tillyard (1925) and Bode (1953); it was recombined as Liassogomphus brodiei by Cowley (1934), Cowley (1942), Etter and Kuhn (2000) and Ansorge (2003); it was considered a nomen nudum by Buckman (1843); it was recombined as Heterothemis brodiei by Ansorge (2004).
