Taxonomy
Soomylacris strahani was named by Bolton (1930). Its type specimen is MPG 49249, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Maes-y-cwmmer (Gellideg level), Monmouthshire, which is in a Westphalian D delta plain siliciclastic in the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Sooblatta strahani by Schneider (1983) and Jarzembowski and Schneider (2007).
