Taxonomy
Sinotaeniopteryx chengdeensis was named by Hong (1983). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Xiaofanzhangzi, collection H8017, Chengde City, which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large mudstone in the Jiulongshan Formation of China.
